President Barack Obama is making the rounds on his media blitz just before the Presidential elections of 2012 to pursade undecided voters to cast that critical ballot for his re-election bid on November 6th.
Hurricane Sandy has President Obama changing his schedule today putting a possible national television morning show in flux. He will not travel to Orlanda today due to deteriorating weather conditions in the Washington, DC area. The President will return to the White House to monitor the preparations for and early response to Hurricane Sandy. Rewinding back to Friday at The White House, the President gave 10 exclusive interviews with local and national media outlets. Those interviews included some local TV stations and national interviews with questions and answers from MTV, targeting the youth voter. The final round of questions came around 6 pm Friday night with April Ryan, White House Correspondent and Washington Bureau Chief of the American Urban Radio Networks. The interview was short but focused on urban and minority issues. President Obama physically looked upbeat and in great spirits, yet, there were hints of a long tiring day in the sound of his voice during the almost 14 minute exclusive interview.

With April Ryan, The President answered a follow up question from December 2009 on the State of Black America; he also addressed issues of a targeted approach for the continuing disproportionately high black unemployment rate. The President dismissed notions about a decline in the numbers of women voters supporting him as some polls are concluding. President Obama also discussed his early voting in his hometown polling place. On the topic of voting, a question that begged an answer, how is the U.S. Justice Department engaged in any voting irregularities around the country? And lastly, the President answered a final question on why should black America vote for you again when there are concerns about the black unemployment rate, some very vocal concerns over his decision on gay marriage, and a perceived lack of engagement in the black community. The President made the case on all three questions.
Seven minutes was slated for the interview. The interview lasted almost 14 minutes. The questions were pulled from an array queries from different areas like those reported on at the White House, questions from social media and conversations with black leaders.
Meanwhile, Governor Mitt Romney has only done an interview with one black media outlet. That outlet is Black Enterprise. Several outlets to include Black Entertainment Television and April Ryan of American Urban Radio Networks were promised interviews but never received them.
